Industrial livestreaming boosts Quanzhou's online retail sales
The online retail sales of Quanzhou, a city in East China's Fujian province, amounted to 85.83 billion yuan ($12.12 billion) from January to May, ranking first in the province and a year-on-year increase of 24.6 percent.
The growth rate was 13.9 percentage points higher than that of the province.
Online retail sales of physical goods amounted to 80.87 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27 percent, while the online retail sales of non-physical goods were 4.96 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 8.2 percent.
In the first five months, rural online retail sales in Quanzhou hit 63.87 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 25 percent, and the city's online retail sales of agricultural products amounted to 3.78 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 40.4 percent.
Since April, county-level cities, counties and districts in Quanzhou have organized various kinds of industrial livestreaming activities in cooperation with online platforms such as Tmall, Taobao, Kuaishou, Pinduoduo and TikTok to accelerate the growth of online retail of Quanzhou products.

Next, the city will continue to focus on the online economy to promote the recovery of the consumer market. This would include establishing more bases for industrial livestreaming.
