Quanzhou to boost agriculture and rural development
In order to increase Quanzhou-Taiwan agricultural cooperation and exchanges, and promote the development of Quanzhou’s agricultural industry, Quanzhou bureau of agriculture and rural affairs is set to promote investment in four key areas.
The bureau has completed the screening and collection of 100 Quanzhou agricultural investment projects to establish a project reserve, with a total investment amount of 5.22 billion yuan ($736.27 million).
The four key areas of the 100 projects include the deep processing of agricultural products, e-commerce and cold chain logistics, ecological agriculture, and agricultural and pastoral leisure tourism.
Quanzhou will encourage and support various investors from Taiwan in the development of deep processing projects related to vegetables, fruit, livestock, poultry, aquatic products, grains, and oils in Quanzhou, and promote the coordinated development of primary processing, deep processing and comprehensive utilization processing.
It will also give support to Taiwanese businessmen to develop smart agriculture in Quanzhou, participate in agricultural product design, promote the network marketing model and develop an import and export business for agricultural products.
Taiwanese businessmen are also being encouraged to develop ecological agricultural practices such as organic cultivation, low-impact farming, mixed farming, industrial integration, and clean energy utilization.
In addition, Quanzhou will focus on developing suburban leisure and tourism routes and leisure-agricultural sites in the mountains and by the coast, with annual output value increasing by 3.74 billion yuan.
