Quanzhou helps out transportation services industry
Quanzhou, a city in East China's Fujian province, recently launched a series of measures to support the development of a modern transportation services industry during the novel coronavirus epidemic prevention and control period, according to local officials.
Under the new measures, transportation services industry companies unable to pay their taxes on time can apply for deferred payments.
Small, medium, and micro sized transport enterprises that have suffered major losses due to the epidemic and whose regular operations have been significantly affected, may apply for a three-month exemption from real estate tax and urban land use tax.
In an additional measure, highway and waterway transport businesses will also be exempt from maintenance and management fees in 2020.
This year, the Quanzhou municipal government will arrange 1.5 million yuan ($212,020.13) to provide subsidies to companies that newly purchase refrigerated transport vehicles, up to 10 percent of their total purchase costs.
The traffic management departments of Quanzhou have opened 24-hour phone and online helplines to provide business with advice and help with the problems of traffic management and transport encountered by enterprises while resuming work and production.
As of May 5, Quanzhou had organized 566 inter-provincial charter buses for migrant workers to return to work, as well as 69 charter buses within the province, transporting more than 13,000 migrant workers.
