First group of Quanzhou medics assisting in Hubei returns

The first group of medics from Quanzhou, a city in East China's Fujian province, returned in triumph on April 1. The 10 team members were sent to help prevent and control the novel coronavirus in Central China's Hubei province on Feb 4.

The team members included five from Shishi General Hospital and five from Anxi County Hospital. They started to work at Wuhan Dongxihu makeshift hospital from Feb 7.

During more than 40 days in Hubei, the medical team provided medical care for 295 patients.

"I'm still very excited. So many people are picking us up here. I'm really touched," said Cai Wanni, the chief nurse of Shishi General Hospital and also leader of the first Quanzhou medical team.

Quanzhou sent a total of 94 medics to assist Hubei fight against the epidemic. The other 84 medics, who are being quarantined in Fuzhou, capital city of Fujian province, will return to Quanzhou soon.
