Key projects in Quanzhou start, complete construction
Using video links, districts and county-level cities in Quanzhou, a city in East China’s Fujian province, held either completion or groundbreaking ceremonies on March 19, involving 53 projects worth 19.1 billion yuan ($2.7 billion).

As one of the key social welfare projects, Quanzhou Baozhang Cancer Hospital is located in Luojiang district, with a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan and a total construction area of about 165,000 square meters.
On completion, it will effectively ease the shortage of oncology specialist medical resources in the city and better meet the needs of regional specialist medical services.
In infrastructure, construction officially kicked off of the first phase of the Shanzai resettlement housing scheme, in the Jinjiang High-speed Rail New Area. With a total investment of 630 million yuan and a total construction area of about 185,000 sq m, it will build 1,100 new houses.
According to plans, the Jinjiang High-speed Rail New Area will be built into a modern new district integrating housing, entertainment and medical education.
Among new industrial projects, the high-end chip project at Hui'an Chengnan Industrial Park has an investment of about 1.5 billion yuan, focusing on production of high-end semiconductor optical communications chips.
In the first quarter of this year, 154 projects are starting or will complete construction in Quanzhou, with a total investment of 66.1 billion yuan.
