Quanzhou nurse honored for fighting coronavirus
Can Wanni, a member of Quanzhou’s second medical team that is assisting central Hubei province, was awarded the title "advanced model" on March 1, for her outstanding performance in the fight against the novel coronavirus outbreak at the Wuhan Dongxihu cabin hospital.
On her home turf, Cai is chief nurse of the urology department at Shishi General Hospital in Quanzhou, a city in East China’s Fujian province. She served as a member of Quanzhou medical team and departed for Wuhan on Feb 4.

As the team leader, Can must summarize the work situation reported by the team members every day and pay attention to their physical condition. In her role, she often reminds them to protect themselves.
After six hours of work every day, after complicated cleaning and disinfection procedures, it takes another four hours before she returns to her apartment to rest.
"Patients often give us the thumbs up, which is the biggest reward for us," she said.
The Wuhan Dongxihu cabin hospital has 18 medical teams from Shandong, Anhui, Guangdong and Fujian provinces. There are about 130 doctors and over 800 nurses.
