Construction work on Wurong Bridge to start in 2020

The tenders for the general contracting work for construction of the Wurong Bridge, in Nan'an in Quanzhou in East China's Fujian province, was successfully opened recently, according to local media reports.
Officials said the construction will take 720 days, running from 2020 to 2023.
They said that on completion, the bridge will be a key transport node linking the central urban areas of Quanzhou and Nan'an.
The Wurong Bridge will connect Xiamei town and Fengzhou town of Nan'an.
It will be an important node for the expressway around the city of Quanzhou, as well as an important cross-river channel connecting Dongxi Avenue in front of the Quanzhou Railway Station, Nan'an and Anxi.
The start of Wurong Bridge will connect with Nan'an Riverside Avenue and the end point connects with Dongxi Avenue in front of Quanzhou Railway Station.
Officials said the news structure will intersect with Provincial Highway 307 and South Jiangbin Road.
They added that the road grading will be that of an urban expressway, with a total length of some 2.23 kilometers.
The length of the main bridge is about 1.29 kilometers, the design speed of the main line is 60 km/h, and the design speed of the interchange ramp is 40 km/h.
