As of Feb 13, 598 overseas-funded enterprises in Quanzhou, a city in East China's Fujian province, had resumed work, according to local officials.

They said that it was estimated that by Feb 20, the number of enterprises resuming work will reach 1,587, accounting for 40 percent of the total.

The overseas-funded enterprises can enjoy the nine measures that were introduced to support the operation of small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs), issued by Quanzhou municipal people’s government on Feb 4.

Quanzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone has also launched 16 measures to support the production and operation of SMEs.

Officials said these include subsidies for epidemic prevention equipment, recruitment of companies and new capacity.

Over the past few days, the staff members of the development zone have helped overseas-funded enterprises with material reserves, work resumption applications and personnel registration.

"In addition to strictly implementing the government's prevention and control requirements, we have also intentionally replaced two large sterilization cabinets to improve the diet safety of employees,” said Liu Shidong, general manager assistant of Fujian Wanlong Diamond Tools Co, an overseas-funded enterprise producing stone processing tools.

In January, the city added 46 new foreign-invested enterprises, utilizing some 460 million yuan in international capital, an increase of 16.4 percent year-on-year -- 3.3 percentage points higher than the average growth rate of the province in the month.
