National college graduates stone carving camp opens in Quanzhou
The fifth national college graduates stone carving creation camp was held in Hui'an district in Quanzhou, Fujian province, in August, 2019.
The camp was attended by 18 students from 17 universities including the Academy of Arts and Design, Tsinghua University and the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts.
The camp aimed to show Hui'an's solid foundation in sculpture and the role of art colleges in the cultivation of talents, innovation, creation of sculptures and academic exchanges in the areas of cooperation among college graduates.
The organizing committee selected 18 outstanding sculptures from over 400 works submitted by 40 colleges and universities for this year's event.
The camp is a continuation of the national college graduates outstanding sculpture exhibition. Since 2008, Hui'an has successfully held four sessions of these events, with the aim of enhancing the hands-on, practical ability of the college graduates and accelerating cultural development in Quanzhou.
