New chapter opened on cross-Straits integration of culture and tourism
The 12th Cross-Straits (Xiamen) Cultural Industry Fair ended on Nov 4 in Xiamen, Fujian province, with the Quanzhou exhibition group attracting a lot of attention at this expo with numerous highlights.
A total of 75 enterprises from Quanzhou jointly showcased the new achievements of the city's cultural industry through 191 booths, becoming one of the most popular exhibition areas.
During this edition of the fair, Quanzhou enterprises signed 20 projects worth an aggregated amount of 20 billion yuan ($2.8 billion).
For the first time, a special activity was held during the event to promote major projects related to cultural tourism investment and financing in Quanzhou.
The theme of the promotion conference was "jointly promote investment and financing of cultural tourism and share new development opportunities", and its aim was to create a better overall image of Quanzhou.
At the event site, 32 major cultural tourism investment and financing projects contracts were arranged, worth some 615 million yuan.
A raft of art performances also attracted large audiences.
"This is the fourth time I've participated in this fair, and for the first time, I have introduced the traditional dance of the Huian (a county in Quanzhou) women to increase the cultural connotation of the exhibition hall," said Wu Deqiang, a master of Chinese stone carving and also art director of a construction engineering company in Quanzhou.
In addition, his company carefully selected Qingshi carving, white marble, granite and other works to showcase Huian's engraving art at nine booths at the fair.
At this year's event, a great number of enterprises who have excelled at integrating traditional culture and science and technology also brought high-tech digital printing equipment to the exhibition area.
