Quangang Petrochemical Industrial Park is the pilot area of Meizhou Bay petrochemical base in Quanzhou, Fujian province.
In March 2012, the park was officially approved by the provincial government to be upgraded to a provincial-level economic development zone. Since 2013, it has been selected as one of the top 20 chemical industrial parks in China for seven consecutive years, and in 2014 it was identified by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance as a national circular transformation model park.
With a planned area of 29.6 square kilometers, the park was divided into four areas - Xianjing, Lyujian, Yangyu and Nanshan. At present, 44 enterprises have settled in the park. In 2018, the total industrial output value of the park was 101 billion yuan ($14.41 billion) and the tax revenue was 9.39 billion yuan.
Quangang is located on the west bank of the Taiwan Straits and the south bank of Meizhou Bay on the southeast coast of Fujian. Quangang has a multidimensional transport network composed of aviation, railways, sea transport as well as highways and tubes, and has several large deep-water berths of 100,000 to 300,000 tons.
Relying on leading enterprise Fujian Refining & Petrochemical Company's refining capacity of 14 million tons per year and ethylene capacity of 1.1 million tons per year, the park has extended the industrial chain of its products to include ethylene, propylene, carbon tetrachloride, benzene and paraxylene.
The park has complete supporting facilities of water supply, drainage, heat, gas and power supplies, sewage treatment, bulk transport, fire-fighting, information networks and land leveling.
In addition, the park has introduced a third-party safety production expert team to strengthen the safety production supervision of enterprises in the park, standardize the production operation process of enterprises, and improve the safety management level of the park.
