The Jiaxing municipal government outlined its key goals for 2026, focusing on steady, sustainable economic growth, improved social welfare, and enhanced technological innovation.

The city is targeting GDP growth of over 5.5 percent, a 6 percent increase in value-added industrial output for enterprises above a designated size, a 5.5 percent growth in total retail sales of consumer goods, and the maintenance of a stable export share. The urban unemployment rate will be kept within 5 percent, with inflation capped at 3 percent. The disposable income of urban and rural residents is expected to grow in line with economic growth.

Key priorities for 2026 include strengthening policy support to boost market confidence, enhancing innovation capabilities, accelerating industrial upgrading, promoting consumption and improving quality, and advancing high-level opening-up. Efforts will also focus on further integrating Jiaxing into the Yangtze River Delta region and promoting balanced urban-rural development. 

Additionally, the city will address environmental pollution and improve public services, including employment, social security, education, and healthcare.
