Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, unveiled the city's eight priorities during the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) period on Dec 15, focusing on expanding both domestic and international economic circulation.

Jiaxing will deepen its integration with the Yangtze River Delta region by advancing consumption upgrades, increasing investment, and building a modern infrastructure system driven by high-level transportation development. The city plans to lead innovation in high-quality rural development and accelerate the transformation of its industrial corridors. By enhancing coordination with key areas such as Suzhou in Jiangsu province and Ningbo in Zhejiang, Jiaxing aims to strengthen its advanced manufacturing sector and create a more collaborative, resource-efficient industrial network.

In terms of consumption and investment, Jiaxing has seen a boost from January to November, with a 5.9 percent increase year-on-year in retail sales of consumer goods. The city's focus will remain on creating high-quality consumption environments, expanding new business models, and growing its digital economy. Jiaxing's comprehensive external trade network continues to expand, with over 9,900 enterprises engaged in trade with 220 countries and regions.

Jiaxing will continue to invest in its transportation infrastructure to further enhance its economic profile, with a focus on integrated regional transport networks. By the end of 2025, the city aims to complete major transport projects, including the integration of high-speed rail, urban roads, and air transportation, strengthening its role as a key transportation hub in the Yangtze River Delta region.
