The Corporate Overseas Investment Workshop (Indonesia Session), a training event to help enterprises better understand market access, regulatory frameworks, and operational risks in Indonesia, was held on Dec 16 in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province.

Berlianto Situngkir, consul general of Indonesia in Shanghai, said that the country's economic outlook and manufacturing-driven growth priorities highlight opportunities in areas such as electric vehicles, digital industries, and renewable energy. Preferential measures in designated economic zones, including tax incentives and streamlined administrative services, were also introduced.

Professional institutions shared their operational insights, with financial and legal experts explaining tax structures and investment procedures, while specialists discussed consular protection mechanisms and the prevention of overseas security risks. Academic experts provided briefings on religious culture and local customs, and corporate representatives shared compliance and management experience from long-term operations in Indonesia.

The event also featured interactive discussions on practical concerns, such as work permit applications and sector-specific incentives, and site visits to industrial projects in Jiaxing, highlighting opportunities for deeper cooperation between local enterprises and Indonesian partners.
