An exchange center for online novels, dramas, and games was inaugurated in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, on Nov 8 during the World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit.

Jointly established by the China International Communications Group and Jiaxing, the center aims to advance innovation, research, and international collaboration in the digital cultural sector, while promoting the export of Chinese cultural content.

Drawing on Jiaxing's rich cultural resources and CICG's global communication network, the center aims to strengthen the cultural industry chain, enhance translation and publishing capabilities, and expand the international influence of China's digital culture.

Jiaxing has long been a major hub for online literature, home to well-known authors whose works span genres like fantasy, history, and martial arts. The city is now transitioning from simply selling products to promoting its culture through short dramas and digital storytelling. Notably, Jiu Zhou Wen Hua has released more than 4,000 drama series overseas, reaching audiences in over 200 countries and regions and blending local cultural symbols with contemporary themes.

By the end of 2024, Jiaxing's audiovisual industries achieved a total revenue of 71.55 billion yuan ($10.04 billion), with 262 enterprises above a designated size. In the first half of 2025, revenue from these firms grew 12.18 percent.
