Jiaxing's industrial added value reached 40.88 billion yuan ($5.93 billion) in the first two months, a year-on-year growth of 6.4 percent, the third highest growth rate in Zhejiang province.

The added value of the equipment manufacturing industry reached 18.11 billion yuan, an increase of 20.2 percent, ranking first in the province.

The automobile and parts industry is an important sector of Jiaxing's equipment manufacturing industry.

Intelligent cockpits have become the latest selling point for many automobile manufacturers, as automobiles are becoming more intelligent. The surge in demand is also spurring orders for intelligent cockpit parts manufacturers like Faurecia.

In September 2022, the first phase of the Faurecia Jiaxing Base was put into operation, providing accessory products for many domestic and foreign automobile brands such as Volkswagen, Ford and General Motors.

The company's production lines are all at full capacity, while orders for new energy vehicle parts have grown from 5 to 10 percent of total production three years ago to about 50 percent today, said He Wei, factory general manager of Faurecia (Jiaxing) Automotive Component Systems Co Ltd.
