The added value of above-designated-size industrial enterprises in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province saw a year-on-year increase of 1.3 percent in the first two months, the second highest growth rate in the province, according to the Jiaxing economy and information technology bureau.

The added value of the city’s above-designated-size industrial enterprises reached 40.88 billion yuan ($5.94 billion), a year-on-year increase of 6.4 percent.

Its high-tech, equipment manufacturing, strategic emerging, and core manufacturing industries in the digital economy grew by 11.4 percent, 20.2 percent, 18.9 percent, and 18.1 percent, respectively.

In 2022, the total industrial output value of the city’s above-designated-size industrial enterprises reached 1.42 trillion yuan.

In Haining and Xiuzhou districts, photovoltaic industrial clusters achieved an output value of 81.57 billion yuan in 2022.

In Jiashan county, Haining city and Nanhu district, new-generation intelligent information industrial clusters achieved an output value of about 186 billion yuan in 2022.

New energy vehicle industry clusters in the Jiaxing Economic Development Zone, Nanhu, Tongxiang, and Pinghu, achieved an output value of approximately 85 billion yuan in 2022.

The city was home to 32 industrial categories and nearly 50,000 manufacturing enterprises. The revenue of its above-designated-size industrial enterprises ranked 19th among all cities in China and 8th among prefectural cities.

Manufacturing industries made up nearly half of the city's GDP, created nearly half of its tax revenue and provided nearly half of its jobs.
