Thirteen enterprises from Jiaxing were included on the 2022 list of the top 100 private enterprises in Zhejiang province for R&D investment, the third most in the province, according to the Zhejiang Federation of Industry and Commerce.

Jiaxing's top three enterprises on the list were Tongkun Group, Satellite Chemical and Wingtech, ranking 19th, 26th and 32rd, respectively.

According to official data, the entry threshold for the list was 330 million yuan ($48.16 million), a significant increase from 201 million yuan in 2021.

The total R&D expenditures of the 100 private enterprises in 2022 amounted to 204.4 billion yuan, an increase of 44.65 percent compared with last year's total.

The 100 private enterprises on the list have a total of 238,500 R&D employees, an increase of 13.1 percent over the previous year and accounting for 15.4 percent of total employees, a year-on-year growth of 0.7 percentage points.

By the end of 2021, these enterprises had 125,900 valid domestic patents, among which 14,100 invention patents were applied for in 2021 and 9,600 invention patents were authorized.
