Sun Xinle, a native of Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province, was recently admitted to the Chinese women's soccer team training camp, according to the Jiaxing Soccer Association.

Sun, born in 2007, was selected by coach Wang Lei for the Jiaxing women's soccerteam when she was 11 years old and has won a number of gold and silver medals for Jiaxing at provincial competitions.

"Sun plays mainly as a central defender and is a lead player at Jiaxing Juvenile Sports School for her outstanding performance and cool head," said Liu Mingxiao, secretary-general of the Jiaxing Soccer Association, adding that Sun will compete at the Zhejiang Provincial Sports Games this year.

Sun is currently receiving intense training in Sichuan province for the third Asian Youth Games, which will be held in Shantou, Guangdong province in December this year.

The training camp gathers China's best female soccer players born in 2007 and trains backup players for the Chinese women's soccer team, according to Liu.

He added that the training camp is actually the Chinese women's juvenile soccer team.

Last year, another Jiaxing soccer player, Zhang Jie, was admitted to the training camp of the Chinese Soccer Association for female players under 13 years old and was recognized as a symbol of hope for her outstanding performance.
