Nanguanxiang subdistrict has preserved its traditional style with its running rivers, stores, and residential buildings remaining from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.

The subdistrict continues to be rich in traditional tea, wine, rice market, Emperor Guan, and Xiashi colored lantern cultures.
