The eighth Wuzhen Theater Festival is scheduled to take place in Wuzhen, Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, from Oct 15 to 24, according to a news conference held in Beijing on Sept 6.

Themed "Flourish", this year's festival will invite drama performers from different generations to stage classic works from China and abroad at 12 theaters in Wuzhen.

Dramas from six major theater festivals in the world, including the Edinburgh Art Festival, the Berlin Theater Festival, and the Avignon Theatre Festival, will also be staged during the Wuzhen festival.

Tickets for the 24 special dramas will be available at 10 am on Sept 16.

Here are the six dramas you should not miss.

1. Red and Black by Meng Jinghui (adapted from Stendhal's novel)

2. World on a Wire by Li Jianjun

3. Game Boy by Wang Haoran

4. Twin Paradox by Shanghai Fun Factory Entertainment Co Ltd

5. The Cat by Sleepy-less Ensemble

6. Toodles Galore and Spike by Yang Zhefen
