Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province launched a series of events to recruit high-end professionals and university graduates, according to a press conference held by the local government on Feb 28.
The events, which will take place from February to April, include press conferences, roadshows, online interviews and online campus recruitment events.
Jiaxing will organize two press conferences to promote the city to talents, headhunting institutions, and university graduates, as well as release preferential policies.
More than 100 projects will be presented at nine online roadshows during the February-April period.
Employers in Jiaxing are encouraged to post jobs with annual salaries of more than 100,000 yuan ($14,000) to Liepin.com, a professional recruiting website in China, and organize online interviews.
Roughly 50,000 jobs and relevant preferential polices will be posted on the job websites of around 100 major universities in China.
This year, Jiaxing has already recruited 44 skilled professionals with a doctoral degree or above.
To attract more high-caliber talents, the city will offer a subsidy of 100,000 yuan per university graduate, 250,000 per graduate student, and 400,000 per doctoral student.
Students who purchase a house in Jiaxing will also receive a housing provident fund loan of up to 900,000 yuan.
A program to attract 200 skilled professionals and teams also kicked off in the city that same day. Individuals will receive subsidies of up to one million yuan and teams will receive a maximum subsidy of 100 million yuan for buying or renting houses.
These professionals are mainly involved in new materials, new energy, intelligent manufacturing, integrated circuits, aerospace, modern agriculture, green finance, technology services, culture, and art.
