The "Yuefeng Youxi" Civilized Wedding Exhibition and Exchange Event was held in Anchang Ancient Town, Keqiao district, Shaoxing, on Dec 27. Twelve wedding teams showcased a variety of innovative wedding proposals that integrate local culture and emphasize meaningful simplicity, strongly promoting the new social trend of "valuing sentiment over betrothal gifts".
At the event, a series of creative wedding formats were unveiled one after another. The "Taimen Wedding" skillfully combines Shaoxing's traditional architecture with family heritage, while the "Barn Wedding" recreates a warm, nostalgic reunion atmosphere with vintage objects. Each design balances cultural depth with formal innovation, conveying a profound understanding of love and life.
Particularly eye‑catching was the live wedding procession performance of the "Ming Dynasty (1368-1644)‑Styled Water Town Wedding". A fleet of boats decorated with red silk glided along the canals and under ancient bridges, presenting the unique spectacle of a "floating bridal sedan".
This year, Shaoxing launched the "Yuefeng Youxi" initiative, combining a variety of local resources for cultural and ethical advancement to organically imbue regional heritage into wedding ceremonies. A series of distinctive wedding models has already taken shape, including the "Tea Garden Wedding", the "Lu You's Rustic World" themed wedding, and the "Century‑Old Granary, Vast Rice Fields" themed wedding.
