A delegation of 54 students and faculty members from Kean University, or KNU in the United States, recently arrived in Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang province for a nine-day cultural exchange.
It focused on academic dialogues, industry visits and cultural immersion.
At Wenzhou-Kean University – the joint-venture established by Wenzhou University and KNU – Chinese and American students engaged in open discussions on culture and working together.
"Real conversations break stereotypes and build friendships," said Cai Jiaxuan, an exchange student. Billy Schussler, a history major, was eager to explore China's past, believing such exchanges foster mutual understanding.
KNU's Global MBA group visited top Wenzhou business enterprises, including Saint Angelo Group, a high-end men's clothing brand and Delixi Group, a leader in China's electrical industry – learning about smart manufacturing and digital innovation.
Professor Dave Farrokh, head of the KNU delegation, emphasized how the visits bridged business theory and real-world applications.

At Wenzhou Medical University and a traditional Chinese medicine hospital, students witnessed acupuncture, tai chi and herbal medicine. Medical student America Luna noted the global value of such exchanges, especially in tackling new health challenges.
Beyond academia, the delegation hiked on Yandang Mountain, visited the Yongjia Academy and explored Wenzhou's cultural heritage. The journey not only showed Wenzhou's rich history and innovation, but also strengthened cross-cultural connections between China and the US.
