After embarking on a journey of expansion on Dec 16, 2019, the new and improved Taizhou Luqiao Airport will be revealed on Dec 26.

The transformation project, with an approximate investment of 3.59 billion yuan ($491.94 million), has seen the addition of a parallel taxiway, a 35,000-square-meter terminal, and 16 new parking stands, doubling the apron capacity.

The airport is poised for a boost in passenger capacity with an anticipated annual throughput of 2.5 million travelers and improved operational efficiency through the segregation of military and civilian air operations.

It will also enhance Taizhou's urban landscape, with the airport's new terminal expected to become a city landmark.

Currently servicing 24 routes connecting 27 destinations across 25 cities, Taizhou Luqiao Airport is set to expand its offerings after the inauguration of the new terminal, fueling a rapid surge in passenger traffic.
