First batch of NEVs rolls off production line in Taishun
In Taishun county, Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, the first batch of new energy vehicles from Farizon Auto, a subsidiary of Geely Holding Group, rolled off the production line on Dec 18.
This achievement comes less than a year after breaking ground at the advanced butterfly-shaped manufacturing facility.
Dec 18 also saw Taishun signing an agreement with Wenzhou University to explore cutting-edge NEV technologies and establish an employment and training base. This collaboration aims to train 1,000 skilled workers over the next five years, providing a vital talent pipeline for the burgeoning industry.
Taishun is not only focusing on NEVs but is also expanding its energy sector with projects like pumped-storage hydropower stations and photovoltaic initiatives. Additionally, the county is investing in the emerging low-altitude economy.
Zhejiang province's strategy of promoting common prosperity has been crucial in attracting major enterprises like Geely to its diverse regions. By leveraging local strengths and fostering strategic collaborations, Zhejiang aims to unlock economic potential and bridge regional development gaps.
