The Zhoushan Art Museum in Putuo district, Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, will open to the public in December, showcasing a stunning blend of art and architecture, according to local media on Oct 22.

The Zhoushan Art Museum was designed by Wang Shu, the recipient of the 2012 Pritzker Architecture Prize, and promises to be a cultural landmark in Zhoushan.

The art museum is operated by UCCA Lab, a platform under the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art known for exploring diverse artistic collaborations. UCCA Lab will oversee the exhibition planning and operations.

The first exhibition will feature three different sections with contributions from artists, scholars, and collaborative organizations from various cultural backgrounds. The exhibition will focus on marine civilization, highlighting Zhoushan's role in maritime cultural exchange.

The museum will also host a book bar, snack bar, art bar, and cafe, making it a new cultural and tourism hotspot in Zhoushan. It is set to become a must-visit destination, attracting both locals and tourists to experience its unique offerings.
