A recent event in Barcelona, Spain, highlighted traditional crafts from Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, including Ou-style jewelry and boxwood carvings.

This showcase, part of the Wenzhou intangible cultural heritage overseas promotion series, was warmly received by locals and international tourists alike.

Organized by several Wenzhou cultural and governmental bodies, the event featured Xu Penghuai, cultural village chief of Lucheng district, and a Barcelona resident named William. They presented Wenzhou's intangible cultural heritage products at famous Gaudi landmarks like Casa Mila, Casa Batllo, and Park Guell, which draw thousands of visitors daily.

Xu and William enthusiastically introduced the intricate craftsmanship and deep cultural significance of Wenzhou's traditional products. A local named Natalia was particularly enchanted by a ceramic bracelet, expressing awe at the beauty and appeal of these crafts.

The event was a great success, with hundreds of intangible cultural heritage items quickly sold out. William noted the joy of discovering Wenzhou's heritage and the beauty of cultural exchange.

Xu emphasized the historical connection between Wenzhou and Barcelona, sister cities since 2011. Barcelona, a major Mediterranean tourist and cultural center, is also a key hub for trade, industry, and finance. This event in Barcelona is considered a significant step in promoting cultural exchange along the Maritime Silk Road. Future plans include extending these activities to France, Italy, and beyond, sharing China's rich cultural heritage with the world.
