5th Quzhou Development Conference opens

The 5th Quzhou Development Conference commenced in Quzhou, Zhejiang province from June 6 to 7, bringing together Quzhou natives worldwide to celebrate their roots, reflect on the past, and deliberate on the future.

During the conference, significant economic policies for high-quality development and investment initiatives were unveiled, accompanied by investment promotion endeavors. Thirty-nine projects amounting to a total investment of 30.8 billion yuan ($4.25 billion) were secured.

Over the preceding three years, Quzhou successfully attracted 13 manufacturing projects, each with investments surpassing 10 billion yuan. Key initiatives such as Geely's new energy vehicle program and Penghui Energy Storage have notably contributed to this growth.

Furthermore, 12 new companies have been listed on the main board, bringing the total to 18. Industrial and manufacturing investments have demonstrated impressive average annual growth rates of 32.5 percent and 34.5 percent, respectively.

The cumulative industrial output value of large-scale industries surged from 190.21 billion yuan in 2020 to 291.31 billion yuan in 2023, marking a notable 53.2 percent growth over the three-year period.

In addition to these achievements, Quzhou unveiled a comprehensive report on the development of the private economy and hosted a talent entrepreneurship and innovation project investment matchmaking session.

During the conference, attendees had the opportunity to explore Geely's projects in Quzhou, immersing themselves in the city's dynamic business environment. At the "Spicy Quzhou" market located in the Shuitingmen historic and cultural block, guests savored the distinctive spicy flavors indigenous to the region.
