Suichang Changzong, the long rice dumpling from Suichang county, Lishui, Zhejiang province, was recognized as one of the "Top 10 Farmhouse Snacks of Zhejiang", standing out from a total of 130 different snacks at the province's 3rd Rural Food Conference from May 31 to June 2.

The long rice dumpling is a traditional specialty of Suichang, characterized by its long shape, unique taste, and profound cultural significance. It is often cut to share among families and friends.

The rice dumpling is wrapped with bamboo leaves and Chinese alpine rush, forming a cylindrical shape. The entire process is done manually. It comes in over 10 flavors with various fillings such as braised pork with preserved vegetables, red bean paste, and salted egg yolk, offering a soft, chewy, and appetizing taste.

In Suichang, as the Dragon Boat Festival approaches every year, each family prepares long rice dumplings in anticipation of reunions with children and grandchildren returning home for the holiday. They enjoy the rice dumplings together, which symbolizes unity, happiness, and fulfillment.

As a result of this tradition, Suichang long rice dumplings are also known as Changqingzong, symbolizing enduring affection.
