The World Snooker Championship, one of China's top snooker events, will take place in Tianjin from Nov 5 to 12. The trophies for the winners and runners-up are from Quzhou's national intangible cultural heritage copper experience museum called "Zhu Bingren Copper".

The venue showcases more than 1,000 exquisite copper artworks, including ornaments, murals, tea sets, and porcelain. Among them, the most eye-catching are the samples of trophies for the snooker championship.

The champion trophy is made of celadon, a Chinese-style ceramic material. Wang Wei, the designer, said that he wanted to use this 44-centimeter-high handmade trophy to inspire people to pursue excellence and show their resilience and wisdom in the competition and culture.

The runner-up trophy is a 25-cm copper plate with intangible cultural heritage elements. Wang said that the plate was shaped by a master craftsman, who also engraved six lines by hand on it. These lines represent six amazing hitting routes in snooker history, symbolizing six classic matches.

"We have sent two originals to Tianjin before the game on Nov 5," said Zhou Yun, the head of the museum. He also said that this was a great opportunity and platform to showcase copper art, a traditional Chinese intangible cultural heritage item, to the world. He hopes to use copper to tell Chinese stories and promote Quzhou's culture.
