Richmond delegation visits Zhoushan

He Zhongwei, Party secretary of Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province, met with a delegation led by Edward Martinez, governor of Richmond in the United States, on Oct 10.
A friendly exchange agreement marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of friendly ties between the two cities was signed during the meeting.
He welcomed the delegation to Zhoushan and outlined the city's economic and social development over the past few years.
He expressed hope that both sides will strengthen mutual understanding, trust and friendship and seek to expand cooperation in economic and trade, tourism promotion, and cultural, education and medical exchanges.
Martinez expressed his gratitude to Zhoushan for its hospitality and hoped that Richmond will take advantage of the visit to deepen cooperation with Zhoushan in economic and trade, tourism, and port activity.
According to the agreement, the two cities will carry out practical cooperation in the commercial area as well as culture and art, education and tourism.
The delegation will take part in a series of commemorative activities including visiting the Zhoushan City Planning Museum, the Green Petrochemical Base, and the 2023 International Islands Tourism Conference.
