A media group of 37 foreign reporters from 31 countries in Africa, the Asia-Pacific, and Arab regions visited Jiaxing on Sept 22 to explore the city's rich cultural heritage and humanistic charm by visiting scenic areas.
Their trip included Nanhu Lake, Nanhu Lake Revolutionary Memorial Hall, Puyuan Fashion Ancient Town, and Wuzhen Scenic Area.
The media group visited the birthplace of the Communist Party of China at the Red Boat on Nanhu Lake, where the first National Congress of the Communist Party of China was concluded. They also learned about the history of the Party's founding and development at the Nanhu Revolutionary Memorial Hall, a national patriotism education base.
They were amazed by the beauty of Puyuan Fashion Ancient Town, where they saw the traditional architecture, culture, and souvenirs of a water town. Maria Akaba, an editor from Republic of Equatorial Guinea, said she felt like she had traveled back in time to ancient China.
They also experienced the charm of Wuzhen Scenic Area, a thousand-year-old town that blends modern technologies and tradition. Meilin, a host from a Thailand's TV station, said she liked everything here and would use social media to promote Wuzhen and Puyuan.
The short trip to Jiaxing left a deep impression on foreign reporters. They said they would share their experiences and feelings with people in their home countries and look forward to visiting Jiaxing again.
