The folks at Wangcunkou town, Suichang county – in Lishui city, in East China's Zhejiang province – celebrated the Dragon Boat Festival in style, with the highlight being a thrilling dragon raft demonstration on June 22.

The dragon rafts were made from wooden logs and decorated with flags and zongzi, or sticky rice dumplings.

Four dragon rafts, each 60 meters long and 4 meters wide, were released onto the Wuxi River, where they sailed alongside the verdant mountains and lush vegetation.

The dragon raft culture has a long history. More than a thousand years ago, the locals used the dragon rafts to carry goods along the river. As a result, the skill of making them has been passed down the generations.
