Nearly 200 students from 50 countries and regions gathered in Jinyun county, Zhejiang province on March 4 to take a closer look at the region's natural and cultural beauty.
Jinyun is well known for its lucid waters and lush mountains, as well as its distinctive culture. The international students visited the magnificent ancestral hall for Huangdi, or the Yellow Emperor, a legendary ancestor of the Chinese nation who is believed to have ruled over a united China around 5,000 years ago. They also learned about the time-honored art of paper-cutting and the preparation processes of local traditional food, such as Jinyun shaobing, a kind of bucket-baked roll, and noodles.
