Huzhou's GDP hits 274.8b yuan Jan-Sept

Huzhou's gross domestic product (GDP) was valued at 274.8 billion yuan ($42.28 billion) in the first nine months of this year, up 3.3 percent year-on-year, according to statistics released by the Huzhou Municipal Bureau of Statistics on Nov 2.

The added value of the city's primary, secondary, and tertiary industries was 9.86 billion yuan, 139.71 billion yuan and 125.23 billion yuan, a rise of 4 percent, 3.3 percent, and 3.4 percent respectively.

Its agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery industries registered a year-on-year increase of 4.5 percent to 17.55 billion yuan during the nine-month period.

The added value of industrial enterprises above designated size in Huzhou expanded 4.2 percent year-on-year to 99.37 billion yuan.

Stable growth was seen in its service sector, which registered a year-on-year growth of 3.4 percent in added value from January to September.

Over the same period, the city's investment in fixed assets recorded a 9.5 percent increase.

Foreign trade volume rose 14.7 percent year-on-year to 128.03 billion yuan, with imports edging down 0.3 percent to 9.82 billion yuan.

The city's retail sales of social consumer goods recorded an uptick of 2.3 percent.

Huzhou's fiscal revenue increased 6 percent year-on-year to 60.42 billion yuan. The general public budget revenue totaled 35.78 billion yuan, rising by 2.1 percent, while the general public budget expenditure hit 43.33 billion yuan, an uptick of 8.5 percent.

Income levels also improved. The city's overall per capita disposable income in the first three quarters of this year increased by 5.5 percent to 46,567 yuan. The per capita disposable income of urban residents rose to 54,102 yuan, while the figure for rural residents was 34,868 yuan.
