Those who have made great contributions to aesthetic education will be announced and honored at the second ceremony of the Huamao Aesthetic Education Prize on Nov 25, where aesthetic educators will discuss the future of the sector at the Donghu Education Forum in Ningbo.

This year's recipients of the M prize, which was established by the Ningbo Huamao Education Foundation last year, will receive a gold medal and a prize of 500,000 yuan.

Those who dedicate themselves to aesthetic education can join and share their ideas by registering their accounts on the official WeChat account of M prize.

Earlier in May, the search for high achievers in aesthetic education began.

China has a long tradition of fostering aesthetic education, and the number of its educators has bloomed in recent years. Li Longmei, a principal at a special education center in Chongqing, led the visually impaired to deliver an exquisite wind orchestra performance at the Beijing Paralympic Winter Games in March.

Aesthetic education has no boundaries. There are some international educators who also try to make efforts to empower it. Briton Andria Zafirakou, who works at a school in one of the UK's poorest areas, taught herself as many languages as she could to help local students of different backgrounds.

Aesthetic education is an important part of education, but is not as recognized as one might think, said Long Yongtu, chairman of the assessment committee for the M prize. More effort should be made to raise awareness.

A report on the future of aesthetic education will be delivered during the forum to solidify its theoretical foundation and further practice, according to its organizers.
