Hangzhou student wins gold medal at WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition

Ma Hongda from the Zhejiang College of Construction won China's first gold medal in plastering and drywall systems at the WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition in France on October 23.

The group of six Chinese contestants that participated in the competition walked away with two gold medals and two bronze medals. All six contestants were under the age of 22 and were participating in the competition for the first time.

"Many people think that there is no technicality involved in plastering and partitioning, but in the field of competition, technology is very important, and the vertical, horizontal and dimensional errors cannot exceed one millimeter. For us, each shape has different practices and difficulties," said Ma.

The special edition, which is a replacement for the canceled WorldSkills Shanghai 2022, runs from the middle of September until the end of November and will feature 62 events in 15 countries and regions.
