Flight HT3839, a freight plane operated by Tianjin Air Cargo, took off from Wenzhou International Airport at 2 pm on Sept 22 and arrived at Incheon Airport in Seoul, South Korea two and a half hours later.

It is the fifth international air cargo route launched by Wenzhou International Airport after ones to Milan, Los Angeles, Tokyo and Osaka. It is also the first and only international air cargo route in Zhejiang province to South Korea.

The opening of the new air cargo route is expected to further narrow the distance between the two places, deepen economic and trade exchanges, provide Wenzhou with a normal trade channel with South Korea, and smooth the international logistics channel.

The Wenzhou-Seoul all-cargo flight, operating Boeing 737-400s, is scheduled to run six flights a week – taking off at 10:10 am in Seoul and arriving in Wenzhou at 12:30 pm, and taking off from Wenzhou at 2 pm and arriving in Seoul at 4:30 pm.

The goods freighted by the maiden flight yesterday were primarily cross-border e-commerce products.

As an important trade partner of Wenzhou, South Korea has established frequent and solid business ties with the city for years. Statistics from Wenzhou Customs show that in 2021, the city's trade value with South Korea reached 5.9 billion yuan ($831.31 million), up 14.2 percent year on year.
