Six grassroots workers were interviewed at the "delegates' passage" and shared their reflections on heated topics such as common prosperity, modernization, and digital reform before the opening of the 15th Communist Party of China (CPC) Zhejiang Provincial Congress on June 20, local media outlets reported.

It was the first time Zhejiang has opened a "delegates' passage" at the CPC provincial congress.

Lyu Yicong, assistant to the general manager of Zhejiang Fulin Guorun Auto Parts Co of Geely Automobile, said he was delighted to see respect for and recognition of skills and labor increasing.

"I call on governments at all levels and all of society to pay close attention to and support workers, help them improve their professional abilities, increase their learning opportunities, improve their sense of professional dignity, constantly raise their salaries and improve treatment of workers on the front lines," Lyu said.

Jiang Lijuan, Party secretary of Xiajiang village in Chun'an county, said she has been working with villagers over the past 20 years to improve the natural environment, bringing new business models to the village and improving people's daily lives with various simple and intelligent scenarios.

Zhong Yi, a police officer from the Hangzhou Public Security Bureau who pioneered the creation of a health QR code, said the precision and intellectual control capacity of epidemic prevention and control in Zhejiang has continued to improve.

"Digital reform should focus on the needs of the public, live up to their expectations, and look to the future," Zhong said.

Gao Xiang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, professor of Zhejiang University, and director of the newly-established Baima Lake Provincial Laboratory, said that the lab, one of 10 provincial labs in Zhejiang, reflects the province's determination to answer the major needs of the country and the needs of industrial development in Zhejiang.

"Our teams will work closely with local governments to support industrial upgrading and boost local economic development," Gao said.
