Carving traditional Chinese culture into boxwood
Ye Lijia is a boxwood carving artist in Qiantang district, Hangzhou city. She began learning the craft at a very young age after she was influenced by her father Ye Wenlei, a boxwood carving master. In 2017, Ye developed a series of unique accessories by integrating elements of Southern Song Dynasty culture into boxwood carving. In 2022, the craft of making wood carving accessories was listed as an intangible cultural heritage of Qiantang district.
