Among the Zhejiang deputies to the 13th National People's Congress, some have a sound understanding of the country's economic development. Entrepreneurs from Zhejiang, a leading force in China's private economy, shared their opinions on the country's economic policies at the national two sessions.

Zhang Tianren, a national legislator, said every company is involved in the nation's goals of reaching peak carbon emissions and achieving carbon neutrality. "For companies, the goals bring both new responsibilities and new opportunities," said Zhang, chairman of Tianneng Group, one of China's largest battery manufacturers.

The NPC deputy vowed that his company will seize opportunities and shoulder more responsibilities in the green transition of the energy industry.

Li Shufu, chairman of Chinese automaker Geely Holding Group, suggested the promotion of methanol fuel and methanol-fueled vehicles to push forward the green transition of the auto industry.

For Zhejiang's Delixi Holding Group, about 200 million yuan ($31.64 million) in tax fees were waived last year thanks to the country's support for high-tech companies, according to Hu Chengzhong, a national lawmaker and chairman of the company's board of directors.

"This allows Delixi to invest more in scientific research and development, to increase the enterprise's competence," said Hu.

Zheng Jianjiang, chairman of the Ningbo-based air conditioner manufacturer AUX, shared his insights into the development of intelligent technologies.

In the past three years, Aux has invested over 3 billion yuan in research and development and intelligent products have accounted for 80 percent of the total, which is helping Aux gain a stronger presence in the high-end market in Europe and America, he noted.

At a workshop in one of the AUX's production bases, the number of workers decreased from nearly 200 to just three with the help of intelligent technologies. "The quality of products has improved and costs greatly reduced," said Zheng.
