Ningbo's GDP surpasses 1t yuan Jan-Sept

Ningbo's gross domestic product (GDP) totaled 1.03329 trillion yuan ($158.96 billion) in the first three quarters of this year, rising by 10 percent year-on-year, according to preliminary statistics recently released by the Ningbo Bureau of Statistics.

The added value of the city's primary, secondary, and tertiary industries reached 24.12 billion yuan, 488.68 billion yuan, as well as 520.49 billion yuan, up 3.4 percent, 12.8 percent, and 8 percent year-on-year respectively.

The industrial added value of enterprises above designated size in Ningbo surged 15 percent year-on-year. Their combined profits hit 127.56 billion yuan, an increase of 17.9 percent year-on-year.

Thirty-one out of 35 major industries in the city reported positive growth in added value. Emerging industries including equipment manufacturing witnessed robust growth during the nine-month period.

Stable growth was seen in the service sector, which registered a year-on-year growth of 8 percent in added value.

The city's investment in fixed assets and foreign trade also performed well. 

From January to September, the city's investment in fixed assets achieved a year-on-year growth of 13.2 percent. Its foreign trade value expanded 22.5 percent year-on-year to 872.98 billion yuan, with exports growing 20 percent to 557.42 billion yuan.

The actual utilization of foreign capital reached $2.89 billion, an increase of 34.8 percent.

During this period, the total retail sales of social consumer goods in Ningbo rose 13.9 percent to 329.79 billion yuan.

The city's fiscal revenue also saw an uptick of 18.2 percent year-on-year to 283.19 billion yuan, while its total expenditure in the general public budget was valued at 139.31 billion yuan, up 11.8 percent. 

In the first three quarters of this year, the per capita disposable income of residents in Ningbo stood at 51,404 yuan, an increase of 8.3 percent year-on-year after deducting price factors.
