33 Zhejiang commodity markets ranked among nation's top 100
Thirty-three commodity markets from East China's Zhejiang province recently made the list of the top 100 commodity markets in terms of comprehensive strength in China.
The list was released by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Evaluation Studies at 12th China Commodity Market Summit held in Yiwu, a county-level city in Zhejiang on Oct 22.
Zhejiang topped China in terms of the number of markets included in the list, followed by Shandong (18) and Jiangsu (18).
Four Zhejiang markets were in the top 10 - China (Yiwu) Commodity City, China (Shaoxing) Light Textile City, China (Haining) Leather City and Tongxiang Puyuan Woolen Sweater Market.
In addition, six markets from Zhejiang were listed among the nation's leaders in digitalization reform.
Official statistics show that the turnover of some 3,260 commodity markets from Zhejiang totaled 2.12 trillion yuan ($326.15 billion) in 2020, the sixth consecutive year it exceeded 2 trillion yuan.
This year, the amount is expected to reach a record high of 2.3 trillion yuan.
A digital management platform collating information related to 3,000-plus markets has been launched in Zhejiang, bringing much convenience to the public.
