East China's Zhejiang province, which is the only guest province of honor at the ongoing 2021 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), hosted the "Zhejiang Day" event at the fair in Beijing on Sept 3.

The event's organizers were the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government and the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce. It aimed to promote international economic and cultural exchanges related to Zhejiang's trade in service sectors.

Among the nearly 200 attendees on site were government officials and entrepreneurs from across the province, as well as Thai diplomats.

The Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce and a Beijing-based IT service outsourcing industry association signed a cooperation framework agreement for the Global Digital Trade Expo, which will be held in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, in the future.

The department also signed a strategic cooperation memorandum with Thailand's Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa Thailand).

The event also included a signing ceremony for 16 cooperation projects involving Zhejiang companies that are attending the fair. The intended deals were valued at $337 million.

As part of Zhejiang's efforts to promote its digital trade brands, the 2020 Top 100 Zhejiang Digital Trade Enterprises list was jointly released at the event by the Zhejiang Qiantang Digital Trade Institute, the Zhejiang International Digital Trade Association, the College of Economics at Hangzhou Dianzi University, as well as the Alibaba Business School at Hangzhou Normal University.
