Eighteen counties or county-level cities in East China's Zhejiang province made the 2021 list of the top 100 counties in China in terms of GDP, according to a recent report.

The report was compiled by CCID Consulting, a think tank affiliated with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and involved 1,879 county-level administrative regions in China.

Among all Chinese provinces, Zhejiang has the second highest number of entrants on the list, followed by Jiangsu, which has 25, and Shandong, which has 13.

Cixi, a county-level city in the jurisdiction of Ningbo, was ranked sixth nationwide. Its GDP figure in 2020 was 200.83 billion yuan ($31 billion).

Zhejiang is home to nine counties which posted more than 100 billion yuan in GDP last year. They are sequentially Cixi, Yiwu, Yuyao, Zhuji, Haining, Yueqing, Wenling, Ruian, and Tongxiang. There are a total of 38 such counties nationwide.
