Xinmei Electric, an affiliate of Hangzhou Power Equipment Manufacturing Co, obtained a carbon neutrality certificate from the China Energy Conservation Association (CECA) on June 18, becoming the first-ever recipient of the honor in Zhejiang province.
The certificate states that the greenhouse gases emitted by the Hangzhou company in 2020 was equivalent of 1,465 metric tons of carbon dioxide and that the carbon emissions have been completely offset by the company through its purchase of the corresponding quota in the Chinese Certified Emission Reduction (CCER).
The company has accelerated its adoption of low-carbon production modes in recent years, running a smart management system to curb the electricity consumption of its high-power equipment. In 2020, it reduced its carbon emissions by 740 tons from the previous year.
