Eytan Bar, an Israeli talent introduced by the Gongshu district government last year, finished his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination on April 9, Hangzhou Daily reported.
"It's great that I don't need to get quarantined again when I come back to China after a business trip," said Bar, who also praised the staff members who offered him one-on-one translation services for the inoculation.
Bar was worried about an upcoming business trip to California, the United States, where he would work with a local company on a $2 million project before May as the quarantine time for COVID-19 prevention and control in both cities would take nearly a month together.
Local officials and various government departments learned about Bar's concerns and teamed up to solve his problem. Bar was hence informed immediately when Zhejiang province announced guidelines on COVID-19 vaccinations for foreigners. He was also the first foreigner in Gongshu district to get vaccinated.
"I really appreciate all the efforts in helping me get the vaccination," Bar said.
Bar was a talent introduced by the Gongshu sector of Hangzhou International Talent Entrepreneurship and Innovation Park from Israel in 2020. As the first of its kind in China, the park has been dedicated to helping foreign talent in four categories of 68 services in their work and life in the city.
