A dozen foreign teachers and students from the University of Nottingham Ningbo China took part in a class where they learned how to repair ancient books on Dec 5.

The event was part of a series of activities that marked the 15th anniversary of the establishment of sister relations between  Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province and Nottingham in Britain.

The University of Nottingham Ningbo China is the first joint-venture university in China. It is now home to over 8,000 students and staff members from 70 countries.

Under the guidance of Yu Meina, a book restoration expert from Tianyi Pavilion Museum, the participants learned how to repair books using hand-made bamboo paper and accessories including brushes and tweezers.
