Shaoxing summit highlights China-Africa cooperation

The 2nd China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation & Development Shaoxing Summit was held in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province from Nov 6 to 8.
Over 150 African ambassadors, enterprises representatives, and students exchanged their ideas on the topic of "Shaoxing-Africa cooperation and win-win development".
Four projects were signed between Shaoxing and African countries including Mauritius, Djibouti, and the Kingdom of Lesotho.

According to local authorities, Shaoxing plays an important role in the Belt and Road Intiative and boasts frequent exchanges with African countries.
In 2019, Shaoxing's exports to Africa were valued at 25.52 billion yuan ($3.87 billion), up 24.8 percent year on year. The city's imports from Africa were valued at 2.2 billion yuan, up 50.6 percent year on year.
To date, Shaoxing harbors 96 enterprises from 22 African countries and has received $142.21 million in investment. Shaoxing enterprises have launched 145 projects worth $790 million in 25 African countries.
